O Lucas descende dos Purépecha e gosta de pintar. Não sei o que acontece com os outros escritores, mas eu, quando estou a escrever, estou a visualizar a história na minha mente, como se fosse um filme a desenrolar-se; isso é mais fácil se as personagens tiverem cara. Assim, fui ao Google e pesquisei imagens de jovens atores promissores. Houve um que me prendeu logo a atenção, não só por fugir ao estereotipo de menino bonito de Hollywood, como pelo seu ar de promessa e desafio. Estou a falar de Alex Meraz. Muito mais tarde, descobri que faz de “Paul” do clã de lobos no filme “Lua Nova”… enfim, sou distraída, daí não o ter reconhecido. Como sabia tão pouco sobre ele, pesquisei a sua biografia e deparei-me com esses dois dados: descende dos Purépecha e gosta de pintar. Achei interessante, por isso transferi as suas características para a personagem do livro. Aliás, na página 219 da versão portuguesa escrevi: “- Só tens de deixar fluir o romance entre o pincel e a tela”. Esta é, na verdade, uma frase que adaptei a partir de uma que o próprio Alex Meraz usou no seu Twitter e que veio mesmo a calhar ;-)

Lucas descended from Purhépecha and enjoys painting. I don’t know what happens with other writers, but I when I'm writing, I visualize the story in my mind, like a movie unfolding; it is easier to do so if the characters have a face. So I went to Google and searched images of promising young actors. There was one who held my attention immediately, not only because he escaped the stereotype of Hollywood pretty boy, but also by his air of promise and challenge. I'm talking about Alex Meraz. Much later, I discovered he plays "Paul" in the wolves clan in the movie "New Moon"... well, I'm distracted, hence not I have not recognized him. Since I knew so little about him, I researched his biography and I came across these two data: descended from Purhépecha and enjoys painting. I found it interesting, so I transferred these two characteristics to the character in the book. Indeed, on the English version, I wrote: "You just have to let the romance between the brush and the canvas happen.” This is actually an adapted phrase that Alex Meraz used in his Twitter account and that became very handy;-)
